About Rankd

Founders get Crunchbase. Athletes get the Olympics. Gamers got nothing.

Until now. Rankd is the global ladder for every gamer on Earth, one number that captures everything you've ever done with a controller, a keyboard, or a phone in your hand.

The story

It started with one question: where do I actually stand?

Three billion people play games. They grind seasonal ladders, build communities, speedrun, theorycraft, stream to two viewers at 2am, and farm crops on Facebook. Yet there has never been a single place that answers gaming's most natural question, out of everyone on the planet, where do I rank?

Rankd was founded in Australia by Ricky and Aron Saether Jackson to answer it. The idea borrowed from two worlds: the Crunchbase rank: where a first-time founder can watch themselves climb from nine-millionth toward the top 100, and the competitive ladders gamers already live inside every season. Combine them, run it across every game and every platform, and you get something gaming has never had: one ladder, for everyone.

The engine behind it weighs performance, reach, consistency, breadth and momentum, the exact recipe stays in the vault, the same way the search engines guard theirs. What we promise is that the ladder never lies: the only way up is to play, build, and show up.

The co-founders

Two names at the top of the cap table. Two tags on the ladder.

Ricky is the product mind behind Rankd, obsessed with the moment a player sees their number for the first time. He drives the brand, the partnerships and the mission: a ladder with room for fifty million names on it, where status is earned in public and the climb never ends.

Aron owns the engine, the signals, the daily 00:00 UTC recompute, and the vault the formula lives in. His benchmark for the ranking is simple: it has to feel fair to a world champion and exciting to someone whose entire gaming résumé is a Facebook farm. If both keep checking their number, it's working.

What we believe

The house rules.

[01]

The ladder never lies

Ranks are computed, not curated. No paid placements, no shortcuts, no exceptions, not even for us.

[02]

Everyone gets a number

Pro or casual, PC or phone, esports arena or living-room couch. If you play, you're on the ladder.

[03]

Status is earned in public

Your rank is yours to share, defend and climb. The arrow next to your name matters more than where you started.
