1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of rankd.com and any related applications, forums, and services (together, "Rankd", "we", "us"). By visiting the site, claiming a rank, creating an account, or posting in the community, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Rankd.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Rankd. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only use Rankd with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using Rankd you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

• You may create an account using an email address or a supported sign-in provider (such as Google or Apple). You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
• You may only claim gamertags and link platform handles (e.g. Twitch, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Riot, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Facebook) that belong to you. Claiming someone else's identity is prohibited and may result in removal of your account.
• One person, one ladder position. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings is prohibited.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

4. The Rankd Score and rankings

• The Rankd Score is an automated, algorithmic estimate produced by combining signals including performance, reach, consistency, breadth, and momentum. It is generated by software without manual curation and represents a computed opinion, not a statement of fact about any person's skill, character, or worth.
• Rankings are recomputed once daily at 00:00 UTC (midnight, Coordinated Universal Time). Scores and positions shown between recomputes may not reflect the most recent activity. We may change the recompute schedule, methodology, signals, and weightings at any time without notice.
• The methodology and weightings of the ranking algorithm are confidential and proprietary. We do not publish them and are under no obligation to explain an individual score.
• Attempting to manipulate rankings, including fake engagement, purchased followers, bot activity, collusive boosting, or exploiting the scoring system, is prohibited and may result in score resets, ranking removal, or account termination.
• Some leaderboards (including pre-launch previews) are computed from publicly reported information about well-known players and creators, such as published follower counts and tournament prize figures. These figures are approximate, provided for information and commentary, and Rankd is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any person appearing on them. If you appear on a public-data leaderboard and would like your entry corrected or removed, contact us using the details below.

5. Community forums and user content

• Rankd may offer community forums, comments, profiles, and other spaces where users can post content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.
• By posting, you grant Rankd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving Rankd, including in shareable rank cards and community highlights.
• You are solely responsible for what you post. Do not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, deceptive, or that discloses another person's private information.
• We may remove any User Content and restrict any account at our discretion, with or without notice.

6. Moderation and automated systems

• The forums are moderated by a combination of automated systems and volunteer community moderators.
• Automated systems may filter, hide, flag, rate-limit, or remove content, and may action accounts, without human review. You acknowledge that automated moderation can make mistakes; you may appeal moderation decisions through the contact channel below.
• Moderator applications are assessed automatically. Eligibility is determined by a script against criteria that may include account age, activity history, community standing, rank tier, and conduct record. Criteria may change at any time and are not published in full. An automated approval does not create any right to remain a moderator.

7. Volunteer moderators

• Moderators are volunteers. Being a moderator does not create an employment, agency, contractor, or partnership relationship with Rankd, and confers no entitlement to payment or benefits.
• Moderators must enforce the community rules fairly, must not use moderator tools for personal advantage or feuds, and must keep any non-public information confidential.
• Moderator status may be revoked automatically or manually at any time without notice or reason.

8. Advertising and sponsored content

• Rankd is an advertising-supported service. You will see advertising on the site and in the forums, and you agree that we may display advertising alongside, around, or between content, including User Content.
• Sponsored placements, brand-sponsored leaderboards, and paid promotions will be identified as such. Advertising never affects anyone's rank.
• Advertisers do not receive your personal information from us except as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Rankd name, logo, design, software, scoring system, and all site content other than User Content and third-party material are owned by Rankd and protected by intellectual-property laws. Trademarks, gamertags, and brand names belonging to third parties (including game publishers and platforms) remain the property of their owners; references to them do not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

10. Acceptable use

You must not: scrape or bulk-harvest data from Rankd; reverse-engineer or probe the ranking system; interfere with the operation or security of the service; use Rankd to harass, stalk, or target any person; upload malware; misrepresent your identity; or use the service for unlawful purposes.

11. Third-party services

Rankd relies on third-party infrastructure and sign-in providers (described in the Privacy Policy) and displays data drawn from third-party gaming and social platforms. We are not responsible for those services, their availability, or the accuracy of data they publish. Linking a platform to your profile is subject to that platform's own terms.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

• Rankd is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, reputation, opportunity, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Rankd, including the content of any ranking.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the service.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Rankd at any time for breach of these Terms or to protect the service or its users. You may delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including licences to previously shared content, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use of Rankd after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your place of residence.
