Another outstanding flick overall, and great performance by edward norton. This movie goes hand-in-hand with the prestige in my book: both magician-themed and very well done, but completely unique plots. Norton adds the sugar on top of this movie. Don't know of anyone who DIDN'T like this movie after seeing it. Surprisingly, I was turned off by the previews, but within 20 minutes sitting in the theater I knew I didn't waste $9.50. FYI: won numerous awards and nominated for Oscar.
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors and as usual he was excellent. I love the kind of movies that keep you guessing and end with a surprise. This is a good movie to rent, so you can rewind to review scenes....particularly after the movie is over. I thought it was a well- made and entertaining movie.
It always seems that movies come in groups. I saw this only a few days before seeing the prestige, and although they're both magic based movies they're very different. This film was good and although I didn't like it quite as much as the prestige, its one I would still recomend to a friend.
The plot grabs you right away and pulls you in. It one of those movies you need to pay close attention to otherwise your going to be kicking yourself by the end.

I thought the movie was weak--nothing compared to the Prestige whose ending was way more cool and surprising than the illusionist. They never bothered to explain how he had magical powers, albeit the tricks were cool, but kind of ridiculous. if he was so magical why did he have to fake the girl's death?

Good acting, lame plot. prestige way better.
