A masterpiece. One of my favorite movies. If you can't deal with black and white or subtitled films this may not be for you. If you can however; this movie is at the top of its class. As an alternative you may enjoy 'The Magnificent Seven', a cowboy version of this samurai classic.
The film follows a small group of villagers that appeal to a single samurai for help against a group of bandits. The older samurai gathers a group of six others and does what must be done. Fulfilling the role of the samurai the band protects and defends the people of the village.
A classic movie. Anyone who has the least interest in the samurai style of movies should check this out.
