This movie was f*cking amazing for a comic rendition. They touched upon so many things that true comic fans would of noticed. If I wasnt so broke I'd go see it 5x over.
All in all, I put Iron Man in the "Spiderman" level of comic book movies, which is to say it is a lot better than The Hulk.
The acting was good to great, with Robert Downey stepping in as a very convincing Tony Stark. He was just enough of an arrogant ass, but still pulled off the heroic aspect well. Jeff Bridges was good, but I still here a bit of "The Dude" whenever he talks. Gwyneth Paltrow was just smokin'.
What really makes the movie though are the special effects. The suits really just kick ass, and flying in that thing would be the coolest thing ever.
This movie was very well composed. Having just seen it i am blown away. It is definitely not too childish but at the same time not only for the adults. There are some parts that had me laughing pretty hard and then many times in the movie i found myself saying, "I wish i could do that." I thought the movie flew by very quickly with good action from start to finish. Tony Stark is quite a character who pulls of some not so expected things.
Iron Man is a prime example of a comic book rendition done right. Holding true to the original story but at the same time adding modern twists, this film will not dissapoint. Downey Jr. brings down the house as Tony Stark, a role that should prove vital to his carreer. Stan Lee's hilarious cameo is just one of several comical moments in the film. With the sequel already forecasted for April 2010, hopefully Marvel will duplicate all the right moves from the first.
Sam Jackson sneaks in after the credits as Nick Fury... Great Touch. I am curious to see how The Avengers (July 2011) will play out.
Iron Man was a very well done film because it built up the protagonist's character, as oppose to just shooting into the hero part. It was good in it was able to give enough background information, similar to "Batman Begins, to tell you how the hero became what he is. Good movie overall, and other comic movies should take a lesson from this.

Favorite part of the movie: Stan Lee's cameo.
A must see.
