Unique concept by far. Such a simple idea and the guitar controller itself makes it. This is a great series, but games of this nature need to focus on downloadable content and community to increase the replay value. Allow other companies, possibly artists, to contribute tracks. Different game stories and gear, even. Larger addons could even be pay per download if they were worth it. I'd rather 2 great titles that pan out, rather than 5 or 6 guitar hero games in a series.
what can I say but amazing. Sooo amazing and addicting. Not much different from the first two guitar heroes, but new songs. The latest version has wifi controllers and what I believe to be the best songs yet. A must have for any party. One concern is that if you have a party, and you havent played guitar hero on that specific console then you have to complete the career mode to get more songs.
I say the best guitar hero yet. The guitar portion of GH3 out does Rock band guitar by FAR. The songs are well composed and there is a large variety of types of songs. It's easy to get into and even if you haven't played the series before you can easily pick it up and start playing on easy. The songs definitely get progressively harder and add to the entertainment value because you can replay every song many times over.
I agree with some of the previous comments about Downloadble content. I guess they wont put out too much so they are able to keep releasing more games but at the same time at least from what i've seen they rarely put on new songs. I just pre-ordered the Aerosmith version for ps3 a couple days ago and im excited for some new tracks. I must say ive wasted a lot of time playing this game but it is just so cool fun i cant get enough of it. Hopefully they will start putting out more downloadable content soon for various artists or even let you create your own using your own songs.
Yeah, I'm thinking for younger age groups they'd make more money selling more titles, but older age groups are a toss-up: college students with credit cards would be able to expand their game for cheap money, and instantaneously, rather than go out and buy a brand new title.
A good game, one I have defiantly played more than I am proud to say. The graphics suck but that's not really what the game is for. The soundtrack is pretty good, some great songs and a few awful ones. Fun overall and good to play with friends.
If you liked the first few games or the general concept give this one a try.
