This is one of my favorite movies ever. In my opinion Tom Hanks best work, which is saying something considering.
The thing that makes this movie so good is the outlook Forest takes to all the hardships his life sends at him. The fact that he is "slow" gives him a certain sense of fearlessness that allows him to see and react to the world with out bias or preconceived notions. He sees the world without inhibition much like a child, though he is often faced with challenges most adults wouldn't want to undertake.
He achieves a status of greatness simply by doing. He doesn't want or wish without action, if he desires something he just does it. And much of what he does is selfless and lacking consideration for his own benefit.
I absolutely love this movie and even now will pop it on if I'm bored.
Defiantly one to check out, if you haven't done so already.
love this movie. might be my favorite. robert zemkis is an incredible director. next to back to the future, this is his best movie. never a dull scene, and how everything just happens to him because he just lives his life. wow.
